After a breakthrough debut album and more than two years of touring, Canadian singer-songwriter Leslie Feist took just a week to record her sophomore album. Titled The Reminder, the new set will be released internationally on April 23rd (Arts & Crafts) and in the U.S. on May 1st (Cherrytree/Interscope).
"We tried to do as few overdubs as possible," Feist told Billboard of the recording process. "We'd do what we'd call town hall,' which was everybody around one mic singing all at once. I wanted it to sound a bit like a congregation."
The album's first single, "My Moon My Man," comes out today, in both 10" vinyl and digital versions. Among the tracks slated for the album are "The Water," "1 2 3 4," "Intuition," "Honey Honey," and "Brandy Alexander," a song co-written with Ron Sexsmith.
Feist has already announced some tour dates in support of the album. So far, her only scheduled U.S. stop is the Bonnaroo Festival in June.
