On the self-produced effort -- due September 12 via Eleven Seven Music -- the band pays tribute to artists such as "late '60s/early '70s 'Stones, Otis Redding, Bill Withers, Stevie Wonder, Humble Pie, Dylan, Tom Petty, the Eagles, Bruce Springsteen," according to frontman Art Alexakis.
The album's first single, "Hater," will hit rock radio July 17 and is streaming via the band's MySpace.com page (http://www.myspace.com/everclear).
"Drama Club" is the follow-up to the band's 2003 Capitol swansong, "Slow Motion Daydream," which peaked at No. 33 on the Billboard 200.
Everclear is playing a number of festival dates this summer, including a Friday (June 30) appearance at Summerfest in Milwaukee.
