A armed man held up the Rite Aid on Cooper Street in Edgewater Park on Wednesday while chatting on his cell phone, police said.
The man, described as a black male weighing 200 lbs., 6-foot-1, wearing a white T-shirt, tan pants, white sneakers with black stripes and a black cap, brought a "pool float" to the front counter, then lifted his shirt and showed a handgun, police said.
The suspect removed the gun and demanded money, police said. He then fled the store, possibly in a blue or gray older-model Nissan or Toyota.
During his entire time in the store and during the commission of the robbery, the suspect continued to talk on his silver cellular phone, police reported.
Anyone with information should call the Edgewater Park Township Police Department at (609) 877-4404.
