Quick Hits: Mariah Carey, Bob Dylan, Jesse McCartney, The Raconteurs, Brooke Hogan, Deftones

Mariah Carey

Mariah Carey told Access Hollywood that she is interested in recording a duet with Janet Jackson. Producer Jermaine Dupri suggested an all-star team-up between the two divas in an interview with MTV last month. Now Carey tells Access Hollywood that, "Jermaine keeps saying this, but Jermaine has to call me and tell me about it. I love Janet. Janet is wonderful. I'm a fan. I'll totally do it, but he's got to let me know so we can write the song." As for Jackson, she would only tell the TV newsmagazine that "There may be truth to that."

The track listing has been announced for Bob Dylan's next studio album, Modern Times, which will be out on August 29. The 10-song album features a number of lengthier tunes according to Billboard, including the closing track "Ain't Talkin'," which almost breaks the nine-minute mark. In related news, a benefit tribute show to Dylan will be held in New York on November 9 featuring Patti Smith, Phil Lesh, Cat Power, Natalie Merchant and the Robinson brothers of the Black Crowes. And last but not least, Dylan's music will be the subject of an upcoming Twyla Tharp Broadway musical, entitled The Times They Are A'Changing.

Teen Pop singer Jesse McCartney will release his sophomore effort, Right Where You Want Me, on September 19. The title track just hit radio as the lead single, and McCartney says in a statement, "I'm really happy with the song. It takes me in a new direction musically but still has a familiar element of Beautiful Soul. "

The prolific Jack White tells San Diego CityBeat that he already has enough new material written for a second Raconteurs album. “I just record when it’s time to record,” he told the paper. “I’ve always let it go the way it’s supposed to go. For example, [The White Stripes'] Elephant sat on the shelf for a year before it came out. We couldn’t put it out because White Blood Cells was doing so well. But I had to record the album right away.”

Brooke Hogan, the daughter of wrestling icon Hulk Hogan and co-star of VH1's Hogan Knows Best, will release her debut album, Undiscovered, on September 26. Brooke plays keyboards and guitar on the album, and recently released the single "About Us." The father and daughter duo will appear on WWE Saturday Night's Main Event this weekend on NBC.

The long-awaited new Deftones album will finally be in stores on October 10. MTV.com reports that the album is tentatively titled Saturday Night Wrist. Deftones are on tour this summer as part of the Family Values tour.
