Updated 00:44 PST Thu, Mar 02 2006 The music of Gorillaz will come to life for five nights at New York City's Apollo Theatre this April, with help from De La Soul, Neneh Cherry, Ike Turner and others.
The Demon Days Live concert series will feature Gorillaz producer/co-creator Damon Albarn and a slew of guest musicians recreating the group's Grammy-winning Demon Days album.
The shows will run from April 2-6, with Shaun Ryder of the Happy Mondays, Bootie Brown of The Pharcyde, Roots Manuva, and Martina Topley-Bird among the many artists scheduled to appear.
Demon Days Live was first staged last November in Manchester, England, where all shows were sold out.
The Gorillaz team is also collaborating on a "live holographic tour" for 2007-2008 with animation company Passion Pictures. Organizers say that outing will combine the experiences of a live concert and a theme park.
The world got a glimpse of the3-D Gorillaz during the Grammy Awards telecast last month when Madonna performed a carefully choreographed number among the virtual bandmates.
