Tunes and spaghetti planned for March 14

Friday, March 10, 2006 12:26 PM CST
Is it batting practice? Is it track? Is it both? Seventh-graders from Cindy Peterson’s choir class practice “Get in the Game” for Tuesday’s spaghetti supper and entertainment. The annual event is a fund-raiser for the VCHS music department. Carla Kelly/VCTR

The Eighth Annual Valley City High School Spaghetti Supper will be held Tuesday, March 14, in the high school cafeteria from 5 to 7 p.m.

Each year, the spaghetti supper is held as a fundraiser for the VCHS music department. Junior high students and parents assist in the serving and organizing of this event.

During supper hours, individual students and groups will perform musical selections which they will be presenting in upcoming regional music competition.

Beginning at 7:30 p.m., attention will shift to the VCHS auditorium, where junior high choir students will take charge. Eighth-grade students will perform original opera songs, which they composed.

Following this, seventh-graders will present their musical, “Get in the Game.” Students have assisted in the choreography and music for this production.

Both programs are under the direction of music teacher Cindy Peterson.

Supplemental funds for the evening’s events are being provided by Thrivent Financial for Lutherans.
