'Cee-Lo' (born 'Thomas Calloway' on May 30 1974 in Atlanta, Georgia) is an African-American hip-hop, funk, soul, and R&B musician. He is best known as a member of LaFace Records act Goodie Mobb, and has recorded two successful solo LPs, Cee-Lo Green and His Perfect Imperfections and Cee-Lo Green...is the Soul Machine. Among Cee-Lo's solo hits are the singles "Closet Freak" (2002) and "I'll Be Around" (2003), produced by and featuring Timbaland. One of a number of artists to successfully record as both a rapper and singer, Cee-Lo is as well known for his funk and soul styled singing voice as he is for his high-pitched rapping. He has appeared as a featured singing vocalist on songs by artists such as Common, Carlos Santana, Royce Da 5'9", Twista, OutKast, and Trick Daddy, and sings background vocals on labelmates TLC's #1 hit single "Waterfalls". He is also known as a songwriter. One of his co-compositions, "Don't Cha", became a hit in 2005 for The Pussycat Dolls featuring Busta Rhymes. Cee lo is currently working on a CD with Danger Mouse called Knarls Barkley and working with all the members of Goodie Mob making a new Goodie Mob CD.
