Hip-Hop Rumors: Omarion, Bow Wow, Blitz and Nappy Roots!
ILLSEED'S BREEDING GROUND!
It might be time for me to do my own site, because I keep doing my thing! Anyway, with that I have to plug the latest finding on the Illseed Breeding Ground. This is the boy Blitz! Now, it’s crazy - I've had and liked his CD for a couple years and I see he's still doing his thing. He's lyrical, got some smarts in his head and commands a crowd. Click here for Blitz – more than likely, you won't be disappointed.
Check out my homey BLITZ," back like he never left!
BOW WOW TO PLAY DRUG DEALER...WITH A TWIST?
On to the rumors! Bow Wow has done his thing in both the music world and the film world, but it seems that he wants to be a "real" actor now. I heard that the Ohio-born rapper is slated to star as a New York drug dealer in an upcoming John Singleton flick. The catch? The "catch" is that he'll apparently be playing a bi-sexual in the film. Now, this rumor goes on to say that there may be some scenes that will certainly test how serious of an actor he wants to be, if you catch my drift. Ironically, Will Smith went down this route many moons ago in "Six Degrees of Separation."
METH GOES TO VISIT WENDY!
I heard that Method Man went up to the studio to visit Wendy! Now, we all know the story, but basically Meth's wife was sick with cancer and it was leaked via Wendy's show. Somebody at the hospital apparently faxed the info to the syndicated show, based in New York. I'm not sure of the origin of this info, but I heard that Meth and/or his wife might have a legal case here. See, there is something called The Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) Privacy Rule and it basically states that the hospital cannot divulge your personal info like that. Somebody is liable here...So, Meth went to visit, but didn't get in. Wendy agreed to let him up, which I think is today. More on this as it develops.
ALLHIPHOP WEEK 2006!
I'm about to call this thing: ILLSEED WEEK! They better recognize before I re-introduce myself! Anyway, click the image and get up on it. Rumor Time!
SCREWFEST 2006!
If you are lucky enough to be in Screwston, TX [Houston] over the weekend, be certain to check out DJ Screwfest, who will be paying homage to the late, great DJ. Naturally, there is a bit of drama accompanying the festivities. I heard that Lil' Flip won't be able to perform and as you know, he was one of the last members of Screw's crew. Apparently, he’s got legal issues surrounding his deal with Sony. I've got a clue as to the details of this but he's just not able to perform. Now, KeKe has been added to fill his spot. I also heard that Sucka Free, Lil' Flip's first label, expects to go to court after they sued Flip and Sony. I think this case is going to court in October. We'll see, but they need to let Flip rock in honor of Screw!
OUICKIES
Rumor has it, Outkast can't agree on the promotion campaign for their "Idlewylde" film and soundtrack. THAT’S why they ditched Oprah; not out of any kind of protest. Both the film and movie drop in August but you can hear the first couple of singles spinning on your local radio station.
I heard that R. Prophet from Nappy Roots has left the group and is now a soloist living in Texas. Damn…I liked that group; the rap game is tough. I heard R is working with some of the TX locals and he's even got a song with Mannie Fresh.
I'm not so sure about the Omarion rumor, because I have been told that he's booked for a show on July 22. That would be messed up if he did a show the same day as getting married. In fact, that's not possible, is it?
The Afros! Afroman wasn't the first rapper with a big wig. I loved this group as they were associated with Run DMC, but they were fun - Fun - FUN!!!! (Look close and you will see quite a few notable names in Hip-Hop like LL Cool J and Slick Rick! RIP J.M.J.) I co-sign this as official Hip-Hop!
