Thursday, September 14, 2006 Let freedom ring with banned-book bangles They're classier than a T-shirt and still convey the message that you dig intellectual freedom. Banned-book bangles, the creation of a former librarian, are the perfect accessory for Banned Book Week -- the last week in September. The wider bangle has adult titles such as "The Color Purple" and "Howl" ($20, or two for $36); a narrow bracelet has kids titles such as "In the Night Kitchen" and "Captain Underpants" ($15, or two for $25). They're both sized for adult wrists and say, "I read banned books." A share of profits goes to the American Library Association's Office of Intellectual Freedom: www.carolynforsman.com |
