BADLY DRAWN BOY
KING TUT'S, GLASGOW, SEP 9 **
AN exclusive show for Badly Drawn Boy's hardcore fans, this was a rare chance to see a big name in a small venue.
Fronted by Damon Gough, the wool-hatted one's opening song, Born In The UK, was inspired by his love of Bruce Springsteen, before telling the Glasgow crowd they were (surprise, surprise) "the best audience in the world".
Prior to the acoustic-led Further I Slide, a couple of inebriated fans ended up vomiting in the middle of the room. But that wasn't as sick as Gough's murdering of Madonna's Like A Virgin and The Lotus Eaters' First Picture Of You. Bad? Not really. Just self-indulgent.
