ROCK ISLAND, Ill. (AP) Adam Wilburn kicked a 35-yard field goal, Brandon Hedges added a clinching touchdown and Baldwin-Wallace's defense starred in a 17-7 victory over Augustana on Saturday.
With the score tied at 7-7 midway through the fourth quarter, Joe Kowalski recovered a fumble by Augustana's Ryan McGinnis at the 15 and Wilburn then added the go-ahead kick with 6:21 left.
The Yellow Jackets' Darren Cereshko then intercepted a pass thrown by Ryan McGinnis and returned it 22 yards to the Augustana 12. Hedges then scored two plays later to push the lead to 10.
Baldwin-Wallace (1-0) managed just 151 yards but its defense held Augustana (1-1) to 189. Paul Burger had 11 tackles for the Yellow Jackets while Kevin Soflkiancs averaged 47.2 yards on his four punts.
