As I Lay Dying, Gwar Headline Sounds Of The Underground Tour 2006

During the course of seven weeks last summer, hardcore metal lovers rose from the depths of their mothers' basements to join a celebration of all things loud, angry, evil and dark at the Sounds Of The Underground Tour. With the success of 2005's debut, the SOTU tour will be back kicking, screaming and louder than ever.

As I Lay Dying, Swedish sound blasters In Flames, Trivium, Florida death metal monsters Cannibal Corpse, alien metal crew Gwar, Terror, The Black Dahlia Murder, Through The Eyes Of The Dead, Behemoth, Chariot and Alaska's 36 Crazyfists will all rock the crowd, while more bands may join in the coming weeks.

Organizers are reducing the size of the lineup from last year's count of 23 acts and will increase the length of set times to give more exposure to each band on the bill.

No dates have been announced yet, but the SOTU tour is slated to make stops all over the U.S., western Canada and in Toronto. Tickets are expected to go on sale in late March, but check the SOTU website for updates.
