'The Visionaries' is a hip hop band from Los Angeles. The group is notable for focusing on positive issues (as opposed to the more negative aspects of gangsta rap) as well as the diverse ethnic origins of its members.
The Visionaries are:
*'2Mex' (aka SunGodSuns) is of Mexican descent. He has released 5 solo albums:
** Words Knot Music (2000)
** B Boys In Occupied Mexico (2001)
** Sweat Lodge Infinite (2003)
** 2Mex (2004)
** Over The Counter Culture (2005).
*'LMNO' (born James Kelly) is White, and is known for his spiritual references to Jah in his raps. He has released 3 solo albums ("Leave My Name Out", "Economic Food Chain Music" and "P's & Q's".)
*'Lord Zen and Dannu' (known together as Writer's Block) have released 1 solo album, "En Route." Zen is Black, and Dannu is of Filipino heritage.
*'Key Kool' is of Asian descent, and a producer as well as a rapper. He has produced an album with DJ Rhettmatic called "Kosmonauts."
*'DJ Rhettmatic' is also of Asian descent and a member of the highly-regarded Beat Junkies turntablist crew. He has released one solo album, "Exclusive Collection".
