Los Angeles underground MC, 2mex, is offering fans an opportunity to purchase a verse from him through eBay.
"Basically, I started realizing that most of my fans are rappers," 2mex told BallerStatus.net. "And over the years, I've gotten hundreds and hundreds of requests, on tour and everywhere I go, to kick a verse for somebody. I've decided now to give that oppurtunity to all of my fans, to every up-and-coming rapper or crew, who ever wanted to do a song with me."
Recently while on a month long tour, 2mex recorded nearly ten tracks with fans who approached him on the road. Now, through eBay, he has the ability to connect with fans and make these deals from the comfort of his own living room.
"2mex and I came up with the idea on a whim," said eBay seller, Sunset949. "But it made perfect sense. We have a service that people want, and eBay provides the perfect marketplace to sell it in. On top of that, we can use Myspace -- on which 2mex has close-to 20,000 friends -- as a marketing tool to get the word out."
The winner of the auction will provide the track and 2mex will create a personalized verse. If in the LA area, the winner is welcomed to come and record with 2mex at his home.
"These verses play an important role in my music catalog," expained 2mex. "Each verse I spit always contains a secret message, and when you put all of them together, it will reveal a secret à la 'The Da Vinci Code.'"
